LPGA L.A. Open

The best in women’s golf are down in sunny Los Angeles for the LPGA L.A. Open, where Canadian Brooke Henderson is defending her title from last year’s event.

In 2021, Henderson came back from behind in the final round to win the competition and she has her sights set on a repeat! Last year’s victory was her 10th career win and her first since the 2019 season.

So far in this year’s competition, Henderson is off to a rough start, posting a 5-over 76 on the first day which could make it tough for her to even make the cut. Also in the field is world No. 1 Jin-young Ko, as well as Canadian LPGA rookie Maddie Szeryk.

Ko comes into the L.A. Open after a disappointing performance at the 2022 Chevron Championship. BUT she took time work on her swing, and should be entering this event feeling more confident than ever. She shot 71 in the opening round.

You can follow the action at the LPGA L.A. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening on the Golf Channel!

UFC

Two main-card UFC Fight Night match-ups will take place in Las Vegas this Saturday night. Here’s what you can expect

UFC Apex will see Brazilian MMA fighters Amanda Lemos and JĂ©ssica Andrade go head-to-head. Andrade is at the top of the women's strawweight division, currently sitting 22–9, and could be a tough bout for Lemos, who is just thirteen fights into her career.

Still, Lemos has won five straight and could see herself in the top-five with another victory. If Lemos wins this one, it could mean recognition as a serious contender in the UFC.

A much anticipated fight is also happening in the women's flyweight division between American MMA fighters Maycee Barber and Montana De La Rosa. The two were set to meet at UFC 269 back in December 2021, but both sat out due to injuries.

Barber is nicknamed “The Future” and is believed to have a pretty solid one when it comes to her success as a professional MMA fighter. She started her career with an 8-0 record, which included three wins in a row that launched her UFC tenure. She is widely regarded as the favourite.

That said, De La Rosa beat Brazilian fighter Ariane “Queen of Violence” Lipski last summer earning her first TKO victory inside the octagon.

So, who will go home with the title?

Find out by watching both bouts, Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN+!
