Hey there! The sun is shining and the weekend is going to be GREAT!
This is what I’ll be watching… check it out!
#CANWNT Friendly Against Wales
Canada’s first match is this weekend against Wales! This match is critical to Canada’s preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Wales are ranked 31st in the FIFA women’s world rankings, while Canada sits eighth. These two nations have met once before and on that occasion, Canada came out on top with a 4-0 win. I’m confident in Canada and believe they can get the win against Wales once again. This match will be a great test as the team builds towards this summer's Olympic Games.
This away match is part of the official FIFA international window in April, within which the Canadian team will be facing England as well.
Check it out on Friday at 1pm ET on OneSoccer and OneSoccer YouTube. You can also find extended coverage across Canada Soccer’s digital channels on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter.
Nina Ansaroff vs. Mackenzie Dern
The Women’s Strawweight fight between Nina Ansaroff and Mackenzie Dern has the makings of a bonafide classic! This Saturday, the two women face off in Vegas as a part of the main card.
Following a three-fight win streak, Dern has never looked better inside the octagon. She is a powerhouse and true force to be reckoned with. Dern’s grappling prowess is so impressive that even if Ansaroff has the top position in mount, it could still end up being dangerous for her.
Avoiding the ground at all costs will be paramount to winning this weekend. BUT, if Ansaroff is well prepared to fend off the takedown attempts, stays disciplined and follows a strict game plan, there is definitely a route to victory for her.
Watch the UFC Strawweight fight between Ansaroff and Dern this Saturday at 3pm ET on ABC and ESPN+!
2021 NWSL Challenge Cup
The National Women’s Soccer League is kicking off its 2021 Challenge Cup this Friday! The season will begin with a rematch of the 2020 Challenge Cup final between the Houston Dash and Chicago Red Stars at 8:30pm ET.
What a good match up to start the season! The reigning champs, Houston Dash, are keeping the band together and are looking to start off strong. I can’t say the same about the Chicago Red Stars but their success relies heavily on the development of their young core - and the production of the new acquisitions around them. It could be anyone’s game!
PLUS! Portland Thorns FC and Kansas City are also kicking off their season this Friday after the 2021 NWSL opener between the Dash and the Red Stars.
Over the course of the next month the league will see 21 matches played out, concluding with the championship game on May 8 (stay tuned for more on that!). Two new teams will be joining the league and I can’t wait to see how Kansas City and Racing Louisville FC measure up this season.
The 174 day wait for the return of NWSL action is nearly over. Check out the NWSL Challenge Cup kickoff on Friday at 8:30pm ET and 10:30pm ET on CBS Sports and Twitch.
Women’s Six Nations Rugby
Women’s Six Nations Rugby continues this weekend with Italy vs. England and Wales vs. Ireland. This year's tournament is split into two pools of three teams, with a final round of games in late April, pitting teams against their equivalent in the other pool to decide final positions.
Round One saw defending champions England enjoy a dream start in their bid for three consecutive Championship titles. France also hit the ground running in Pool B in the match between Les Bleues and the Red Roses.
Each team will sit out one round of action and this weekend sees Italy and Ireland join the Champion party as France and Scotland wait on the sidelines.
Italy open their Pool A campaign against the Red Roses in Saturday’s first game before Ireland travel to Pool B opponents Wales for their Championship curtain-raiser.
