International Women’s Day 2022

Here we go! International Women’s Day is upon us and we need to talk about Women’s sports media coverage…

Canadian women athletes killed it at the olympics - but female athletes get only 4% of sports media airtime in Canada. So on International Women’s Day 2022 - It’s time to #breakthebias.

Canadian Women & Sport is partnering with CBC/SRC and The 4% Rising to produce two live panels on March 8, 2022, for IWD. The panels, one in English and the other in French, will be featuring sport leaders from diverse racial and occupational backgrounds to discuss IWD topics and themes.

SO! This International Women’s Day, GET IN on the conversation - as Andi Petrillo and Roseline Filion host two live panels with industry leaders and athletes, exploring how we can all work together - to finally Break The Bias..for good.

Why 4%?

Only 4% of national airtime is devoted to women’s sports. At The 4% our objective is to promote what, when, and where to watch women’s sports to help raise awareness and grow the audience for women’s sports on TV.
