Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Team Finals
On Tuesday morning make sure to tune in and get a front row seat to the women’s artistic gymnastics team finals. And if all goes as expected, Simone Biles will get her first gold medal of Tokyo 2020. The routines she puts together are so difficult she can afford a misstep or two and still dominate, it’s absolutely amazing to watch.

The U.S. are the clear favourites in the women’s team final followed by the Russian Olympic Committee and China. Unfortunately, Canada didn’t make the cut and will not be competing in the team finals.
Check out the women’s artistic gymnastics team finals on Tuesday morning at 6:45am ET live on CBC TV and streaming on CBC Gem.
Swimming Events
The next few days are going to be GOOD with finals in 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m freestyle, 200m individual medley and 1500m freestyle between today and Wednesday.

Some Canadian swimmers I’ll be looking out over the next couple of days include Summer McIntosh, Kylie Masse and Sydney Pickrem. McIntosh will be racing in the upcoming 200m freestyle, Masse will compete in the 100m backstroke and Pickrem in the 200m individual medley. Hopefully they can get Canada a few more medals!

Women’s 100m Backstroke Final - Monday July 26 at 9:51pm ET
Women’s 100m Breaststroke Final - Monday July 26 at 10:17pm ET
Women’s 200m Freestyle Final - Tuesday July 27 at 9:41pm ET

Diving
Set your alarms because on Tuesday at 2am ET Meaghan Benfeito and Caeli McKay are competing in the 10m platform synchro finals!

After Jennifer Abel and Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu’s triumphant silver (medal emoji) in the 3m springboard synchro event, I’m ready to see more powerful Canadian divers in action.
Benfeito and McKay have a good chance of reaching the podium but we have to keep in mind that China has won every gold medal in the 10m platform synchro since the sport was introduced to the Olympic program in 2000.
Will the Canadian duo prove themselves as some of the best divers in the world? Tune in to CBC Sports on Tuesday morning at 2am ET to find out!
Soccer
The Canadian women’s national soccer team is set to face off against Great Britain on Tuesday after a win against Chile on Saturday. This upcoming game will determine first place in Group E and as long as Canada gets the win or even a draw, they will advance to the quarter finals.

And it turns out that Canada’s top goal scorer in these games is none other than Janine Beckie! Beckie’s grit and determination on the pitch lifts Canada up and will hopefully give the squad the motivation to win tomorrow’s game.
Women’s soccer schedule:
U.S. vs. Australia - Tuesday July 27 at 4am ET
New Zealand vs. Sweden - Tuesday July 27 at 4am ET
Canada vs. Great Britain - Tuesday July 27 at 7am ET
Chile vs. Japan - Tuesday July 27 at 7am ET
Netherlands vs. China - Tuesday July 27 at 7:30am ET

Softball, Bronze Medal Match
After a tough loss against Japan, the Canadian women’s softball team will be playing for bronze on Tuesday morning.
The tears were real but the Canadians need to stay mentally strong to take home a medal in Tokyo. If they manage to dust themselves off and get back to work (which of course they’ll do), they have the chance to get Canada it’s first-ever softball medal at the games.
Canada will be playing again in the bronze medal match against Mexico on Tuesday at 12am ET. And the U.S. will meet Japan today to close out round-robin play, and again in Tuesday’s final at 7am ET.
